Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 13, 2026

Vistana is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy outlines how we handle, collect, and protect information when you use our frictionless screen recording services.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Vistana offers zero-authentication usage. This means we do not require or collect your name, email address, password, billing credentials, or phone number to record and share videos on our free tier.

2. Media Capture Privacy (Local Only)

All media capturing, processing, and video mixing occur **directly inside your local browser** via Web APIs (MediaRecorder, Web Audio). Vistana has no access to your screen share streams, webcam inputs, or microphone audio until you explicitly click the "Upload" button after completing a recording.

3. Information We Collect Upon Upload

When you choose to upload a recording to our secure cloud bucket, we collect and store:

  • The recorded video blob payload (saved as WebM or MP4).
  • Metadata associated with the video (slug, size, resolution, and length).
  • HTTP headers, user-agent tokens, and IP addresses to prevent service abuse and configure rate limit locks.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Free tier uploads are stored temporarily in our Cloudflare R2 bucket and are permanently deleted after seven (7) days. We do not keep backups of expired files. Once deleted, video files cannot be retrieved.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your uploaded videos or technical logs to third-party marketing companies. Videos are publicly accessible only to individuals who possess the specific cryptographic share link (e.g., `/v/[slug]`) generated during upload.

6. Contact Us

If you have questions regarding this Privacy Policy or would like to submit a request for manual content removal, please reach out to us using the contact form on our platform.
